Plans, billing, and AI grading limits
What's included on each plan, how the AI grading cap works, and how to manage your subscription.
What's in each plan
Every new family starts with 14 days of Standard free, including 5 schoolwork uploads, with no card needed. Your dashboard shows how many days are left. Choosing a plan during the trial starts it straight away; otherwise you move to Free when the trial ends, and your student's progress, history and any schoolwork already added all stay.
Free covers one student, 200 AI-graded responses and 150 new lessons and practice sets per month - enough to try Masterly seriously and decide if it fits. Standard removes the grading cap, adds schoolwork uploads (40 a month) and unlocks report-card analysis and weekly insight emails. Family adds up to four student profiles and 60 uploads a month.
Multiple choice and numeric questions don't count toward the AI cap on Free - only AI-graded short answers and writing tasks do. Reviews and lessons that are already prepared don't count toward new lessons.
When the month's lessons run out
If a Free plan uses up the month's new lessons, your student isn't shown an error. Anything that can't be made today is skipped calmly, reviews carry on, and new lessons arrive on the 1st. Your dashboard tells you when this happens. Paid plans have a much higher ceiling that a normal family never reaches.
How upgrades and cancellation work
Upgrades happen through Stripe - you keep using Masterly while the payment processes. If you cancel, your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period; after that you drop back to Free with the usual limits. Your student profiles, history, and progress are preserved.
Receipts and invoices live in the Stripe customer portal. Open it from Settings → Billing → Receipts.
